Conspiracies and Controversies
This discussion-based class invites students to explore major controversies and conspiracy-labeled topics from both history and current events. From government secrecy and media bias to elite agendas, false flags, and manipulated narratives, we take a bold but thoughtful approach to understanding the world beyond the surface.
Taught from an “awake” perspective, this course encourages students to question everything, think independently, and engage with complex ideas in a respectful, open environment. We cover sensitive topics like politics, religion, and government overreach with maturity and clarity. All material is age-appropriate and presented in a PG-13 format, using simplified explanations and curated discussion prompts.
Perfect for homeschoolers ready to dig deeper, speak freely, and sharpen their critical thinking skills.
PLEASE NOTE: Each topic is presented neutrally, with both the mainstream narrative and alternative (sometimes fringe!) theories explored side by side. Students will be given access to source materials (via hyperlinks in the slides) and encouraged to think critically, analyze evidence, and form their own conclusions.

Course Accreditation:
This course counts towards 1 humanities/social studies credit
While our courses are not formally accredited, they are designed to align with CCSS standards. For homeschooling families, transcripts are typically parent-created documents that list completed coursework. This course is comprehensive and academically rigorous, and can confidently be counted as a full humanities/social studies credit.
Curriculum:
Follows teacher-created curriculum.
Standards:
CCSS (Common Core State Standard) compliant.
External Resources:
We will use YouTube videos in this class to provide clear explanations of both the mainstream narrative and the various conspiracy theories related to each topic, ensuring students gain a full understanding.
Parental Guidance:
This class is designed to be hands-off for parents. You’re welcome to sit off-screen and learn alongside your student, but it’s not required.
Homework:
We don’t assign homework in our courses—and that’s by design. One of the major issues we see in the public school system is the overreliance on busywork to measure learning. We believe that real understanding comes from engagement, curiosity, and conversation—not endless assignments.
As a homeschooling parent, you know your child best. That’s why we provide linked materials with each course—so you can use them in your own homeschool classroom as you see fit. Feel free to assign additional work, projects, or review based on your child’s needs and interests. We support flexible, parent-led education that respects your family’s learning style.
*Important Note:
This material is intended for parents who want their students exposed to a worldview that challenges mainstream narratives. The educator teaches from an "awake" perspective, encouraging students to think critically and question official stories. He does not place blind trust in media, government, or institutional authority.
While the teacher approaches topics from an “awake” worldview, personal beliefs are never imposed on students. In fact, there are several conspiracies discussed that the educator does not personally subscribe to. Each topic is presented neutrally, with both the mainstream narrative and alternative (sometimes fringe!) theories explored side by side. Students will be given access to source materials (via hyperlinks in the slides) and encouraged to think critically, analyze evidence, and form their own conclusions.
We openly and respectfully discuss sensitive topics such as race, religion, politics, and government overreach/tyranny. All content is age-appropriate and rated PG-13, using clear but non-graphic language and materials. Parents are welcome to observe or participate as they see fit.
Learning Goals
Critical Analysis: Students will develop the ability to examine multiple perspectives on controversial topics thoughtfully and objectively. They will learn to question assumptions and explore ideas beyond the surface to deepen their understanding. This skill helps build open-mindedness and intellectual curiosity.
Media Literacy: Students will learn to recognize bias, misinformation, and propaganda in various media sources and narratives. They will practice distinguishing between credible evidence and misleading claims, enhancing their ability to navigate today’s complex information landscape. This prepares them to become discerning media consumers.
Balanced Understanding: This course encourages students to explore both mainstream narratives and alternative theories surrounding key historical and current events. By comparing these viewpoints side-by-side, learners gain a comprehensive understanding of the issues and their complexities. This approach fosters critical thinking and balanced judgment.
Evidence Evaluation: Students will practice evaluating evidence critically by examining primary source documents, videos, and other multimedia materials provided. They will learn to assess the reliability, relevance, and context of information before drawing conclusions. This strengthens their research and analytical skills.
Independent Thinking: Through respectful discussion and debate, students will build confidence in forming their own well-reasoned opinions. They will learn to articulate their viewpoints clearly while considering opposing ideas thoughtfully. This cultivates intellectual independence and respectful communication.

"This class has been really eye-opening for me. I always thought the media told the whole story, but now I see there’s a lot more to question. The teacher showed us the facts and let us decide what we believe. Some topics are a bit confusing at first, but the linked sources help a lot. I feel smarter and more aware about the world now."
